This course offers an introduction in canon law.
The student is informed about the place of roman-catholic canon law as a part of churchlaw or religionlaw.
The student has obtained knowledge about the 1983 Code of Canon Law, especially about de position of the faithfull and the hierarchical organization of the Church.
The student is able to understand and interpretate the canons of the Code within de context of the codification as a whole.
The student is able to approbiate some parts of the handbook.
Attention will be paid to the canon law as a part of churchlaw (lecture 1-2).
Attention will be paid to the common legal status of the christianfaithful and the common obligations and rights of the laypeople (lecture 3-4).
Attention will be paid to the hierarchical organisation of de roman catholic Church (lecture 5-7).
