First of all, Pass UCTilburg focuses on helping you to attain your study related goals. In the second year, you will again formulate personal learning goals that help you to focus more specifically on the goals that you want to attain this year. You will also work on group roles and leadership, so that you learn to be more effective in group work. |
Second, the mentorship program is devised to build a community between students and between students and teachers. During the second and third year, you will be mentored by the program director of your major, together with the other students in this major.
The third focus in this mentorship program is on character building. You will again work on intercultural awareness, and we will also focus on our educational planning and career perspectives. Building these kinds of skills will set you apart from other students when you go looking for an internship, a master program or a job.
The second year of Pass UCTilburg
The second year of Pass UCTilburg will consist of 4 blocks.
Just like in the first year of the mentorhip program, we have invited Maaike Wachters to further improve your intercultural awareness and your intercultural skills. These meetings will again be both theoretical and practical.
Block 1: Intercultural awareness
This block about personal development will zoom in on group processes, the roles that people take in groups and different forms of leadership. We will present you with theoretical backgrounds, but also with practical exercises that stimulate you to improve your own group membership.
Block 2: Personal development: group roles and leadership
Block 3: Minor choice and professional practice courses
This block is aimed at informing you about some of the choices that you need to make for your 3rd year. The plenary sessions will give you the practical information that you need, in the group sessions you will apply this information to your own master and your personal needs.
Block 4: Educational planning and career perspectives
In the last block of the second year of the mentorship program, we will focus on career perspectives and on your educational planning. What is it that you want to achieve in your life, and how can you work towards that? Wat is ‘success’ for you personally? How can you show to the outside world what the value of a Liberal Arts and Science diploma is? In the group meeting, you will apply these insights to your own situation.
