Aims
Note: this course is in Dutch.

The students know the most important macro-sociological and philosophical theories on the position of the organization in modern society. The students understand how these theories lead to the question about 'the moral organization' or the organization with 'integrity'.

The students can resume, explain, analyze, evaluate and integrate various theories on integrity of human beings, organizations and human beings within organizations.

The students are able to relate the philosophical theories on integrity to applied moral and sociological theories on integrity of organizations. They can also relate these theories to practical issues about integrity.
Content
The 'organization' is one of the most important and successful social innovations of modern western society. Because of the organization (as a form) modern society can solve various coordination problems. The organization is also considered a problem, especially from a moral point of view. Often it is even considered the most important cause of many collective and individual problems that modern society has to deal with, from sustainability to alienation. In the course it is asked whether a moral organization is possible and if so, how must we conceptualize it? In this context we will also discuss the philosophical meaning of the concept of integrity, and how it is related to the moral organization.
