In this course the student learns about the role of the government in the Dutch economy and about government policies regarding revenues, public spending and the public debt. The student learns how the theory of public finance is connected with the real world. Having finished the course, the student can formulate alternatives for current financial institutions in the Netherlands (for example, the tax system, the pension scheme, the health care scheme) and also evaluate the pros and cons of these alternatives. |
