| Building on the knowledge gained in the course European Legal History, students will learn more about the legal history of crime and tort. During the classes, we will study and gain insights in important historical developments of criminal law, criminal procedural law and the law on torts. Special attention will be paid to the Dutch position in these developments. Within the course there will be a bridge between criminal matters and epic literature from the Middle Ages, such as " Van den vos Reynaerde " and " Karel en de Elegast ".
