Students will be able to apply the theoretical and methodological knowledge and skills which they have acquired during the bachelor programme, in order to write a research paper independently and individually. This paper must be written as a scientific article and will be based on an analysis of scientific literature or on research data.
Please study at the beginning of your third year the information in the studyguide on the various Masters Psychology and Health to orient on the tracks after the Bachelor phase. This helps with choosing your topic of interest for the Bachelor Thesis. Read also the track specific information on Blackboard before applying.

The bachelor thesis is the final assignment of the bachelor programme. The students will write their theses in the fields of their chosen majors.
The bachelor thesis is an individually written paper. The contents of the thesis will consist of executing parts of the research cycle in a methodologically sound way, and of interpreting and reporting the obtained research findings.
The subjects of the bachelor thesis relate to current research activities and projects. For the major Psychology and Health the subjects are in the fields of (Clinical) Developmental Psychology, Forensic Psychology, Medical Psychology and Clinical Psychology (adults) and Cognitive Neurosciences. The thesis can contain a specific literature search about a theoretical or practical matter that is relevant to the programme. A requirement is that the thesis entails empirical research activities which are based on a theoretical or professional relevant research question for as far as it bears a connection with the scientific activities of the researchgroups. Because students will complete the entire research cycle during the bachelor thesis, the latter will mainly consist of a series of available research data, or of executing an in-depth study to further analyse available and/or published research material on the basis of a specific hypothesis.
More information about the bachelor thesis and an overview of the subjects is available on Blackboard Course info.
