At the end of this course the student is able to:
- Apply Porter's 5-force model, DEPEST model and VRIO model to make an internal and external analysis of a company.
- Determine an optimal business and corporate level strategy based on characteristics of the market, industry and organization.
- To argue what the best governance mode (alliance, merger or organic growth) is to implement a certain strategy that takes into account the external environment.
- Provide a written report of a business strategy and the results achieved.

The course Integrated Business Administration is a compulsory course in the second semester of the third year in the BSc Business Economics. The course consists of lectures and tutorials about strategic management and a management game. The management game is a simulation game in which the student experiences how strategic decisions work out. During the game the student uses his or her knowledge gained in the lectures and tutorials. Next to that the student uses his or her knowledge and skills from the field of business economics (Accounting, Finance, Management, and Marketing). The game is played in a team of a maximum of 2 students. Each team manages a firm and compete with other firms in the industry. Collective decision making, discussion and brain storms about the strategy improve the results of the firm.
