Students gain a general overview of contemporary psychology, with a strong focus on social psychology. They gain insight into relevant problems, theories, research methods, outcomes of research, and real-life applications.
During the workshops students will have the opportunity to see how research on different topics in social psychology is done and they will run small studies themselves. They also report and present these studies.
The grade of the multiple choice exam will determine 100% of the final grade. Participation in the workgroups is mandatory.
The lectures will cover a wide overview of different approaches used by psychologists to study human behaviour. The compulsory literature will be explained and interpreted. Blackboard is used to give further support in studying and processing the subject-matter of teaching.
The workshops will give students insights into research practice. Students will be both participants and ‘researcher’ in some small studies. They will work together with other students to conduct small studies. Workshop participation is mandatory.
