The objectives of the internship are:
-To get insight in the practice of the future profession;
-To apply theoretical concepts in practice;
-To develop social and communicative skills;
-To plan en execute different steps in a small-scale research project

Recommended Prerequisites
During the internship the student gets a chance to gain experience in the field of children's literature. The organization in which students do their internship, has to undertake activities and projects which have a clear link with children's literature. The student participates in the organization and does interviews with employees who have a key-position in this organization. Moreover the student plans and executes a small-scale research project with a subject that is of interest for the organization. The research plan should always be authorized by the coördinator of the master and the supervisor of the internship in the organization.

Instead of an internship, it is also possible to fill in 12 ects by following two optional courses (each minimal 6 ects). There are several possibilities to make a choice. Students can choose courses offered by TSHD or another TiU-faculty. It is also possible to follow courses at another university. The condition is that these courses are on a master level. A proposal for following an optional course should be authorized by the coördinator of the master.
